Ready to reward your dad this Father’s Day? Here are five great gift ideas for about $100 or less, courtesy of Mike Sabol, head golf professional and manager of the Queenstown Harbor Pro Shop.
- A gift card for your dad’s favorite course $100 should cover a round, lunch and beer at the Lakes Course at Queenstown Harbor.
- Golf shoes
All the large manufacturers now make a quality golf shoe for about $100 or less. Spike-less golf shoes are very popular and many of those styles fall in this price range, too. We recommend Nike, Adidas, Ashworth and FootJoy.
- Golf pants
Someone once said, “If you can’t play well, at least you can dress the part.” You always look like a serious player when you wear a nice pair of slacks to the course. Most manufacturers make moisture-wicking, UV-protectant pants that are even comfortable to wear during the summer.
- Grips for your irons
New grips on your irons can be just as good as new clubs. You can typically get your grips done for $7 – $10 per club, and most iron sets are made up of 7-8 irons. We offer this service at Queenstown Harbor.
- Pull Cart
Want more exercise as you golf? Walking is a great way to combine cardio and golf. There are now a few good pull carts available around the $100 mark. While we don’t carry these in our Pro Shop, we’d be happy to recommend a few models that might work for you.
