A Thanksgiving Tradition on the Eastern Shore:
Nothing kicks off the holiday season on the Eastern Shore of Maryland quite like a crisp fall morning at Queenstown Harbor Golf Resort. With creative course layouts and a festive shotgun start overlooking the Chester River, our annual Queenstown Harbor Cross Country Tournament once again delivered one of the most memorable holiday golf events on the Eastern Shore. Held on November 26, 2025, this unique tournament brought together golfers from across the region for a playful, challenging, and truly unforgettable day on the course.
As the premier Eastern Shore MD golf resort, Queenstown Harbor showcased a one-of-a-kind layout designed specifically for this event by our superintendant and grounds team. The course blended signature sections of both the River and Lakes Courses, creating an inventive routing that tested creativity, shot strategy, and a spirit of adventure. With a 10:00 AM shotgun start, teams set off across fairways, greens, and custom transitions rarely seen in a traditional round, exactly the kind of year-round fun our golfers love.
To keep everyone warm and energized, players enjoyed crowd-favorite hot soups, warm seasonal drinks, and plenty of prizes, adding to the festive atmosphere and making the brisk November air part of the experience. This annual event continues to highlight why Queenstown Harbor is a top destination for holiday events, winter activities, and year-round fun on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

A Golf Course Redesigned for Fun
Cross country golf is all about reimagining familiar holes in completely new ways, and this year’s layout at Queenstown Harbor delivered an unforgettable experience. As one of the top destinations for a year-round getaway in Queen Anne’s County, the resort once again showcased just how creative and exciting winter and holiday golf events can be.
Golfers kicked off the round with a unique Par 3 from the #1 River Blue Tee to the Practice Chipping Green, a fresh angle that required precision from the very first swing. Later in the tournament, players launched from the #37 Lakes Tee toward #14 Lakes Green, merging two distinct courses into one seamless, strategic challenge – something golfers can expect from Queenstown Harbor’s innovative year-round programming.
The full routing featured inventive transitions between the River and Lakes Courses, using scenic cut-throughs, fairway crossings, and a few surprise landing zones that kept golfers on their toes. From Par 2s to unexpected back-to-front hole pairings, this annual event highlights the creativity, fun, and adventure that make Queenstown Harbor a beloved Eastern Shore MD golf destination.
