A Timeless Waterfront Celebration at Queenstown Harbor

So, picture this: a crisp November weekend on the Eastern Shore, the water sparkling in the late afternoon light, and a wedding that felt like a perfect storybook come to life. Lauren & Ryan’s weekend at Queenstown Harbor was exactly that: warm, joyful, and full of little moments that made everyone smile. And it felt extra special knowing the groom grew up right in Queenstown, so the weekend had this natural, “homecoming” vibe that made it feel so personal and cozy.

Lauren and Ryan set the tone with a bold yet timeless choice: a classic black and white. From flowing bridesmaid dresses to sleek black napkins, every detail felt intentional and elevated. A striking black-and-white checkered dance floor anchored the design, adding just enough edge to keep the look modern and unforgettable. The result was a monochromatic moment done right; romantic, refined, and effortlessly cool, proving that classic doesn’t have to feel predictable.

Our wedding was truly the perfect weekend. We rented out all the bungalows and houses on the property so our wedding party, family, and friends who traveled in could stay right there with us the entire time. The houses were absolutely perfect and added such a special element to the weekend. All of our guests had nothing but wonderful things to say about the accommodations.

Friday Night: Rehearsal Dinner

The weekend started with a rehearsal dinner that felt both festive and relaxed. Guests were greeted with on-other than Maryland Crab Soup, then enjoyed Herb Pork Loin, Alaskan Salmon, Red Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Asparagus, Field of Greens Salad, and a sweet finish of New York Cheesecake and cookies. The property was full as many guests stayed in our seven lodging options, which meant the weekend felt like one big, happy, waterfront sleepover.

It was a stunning, intimate, candle-lit dinner with delicious food and a beautiful atmosphere. The staff was extremely attentive, and it was just an all-around magical night.

Cocktail Hour: Black & White, with a Splash of Fun

After a beautiful church ceremony, guests returned for cocktail hour, where the couple’s black-and-white decor set a timeless tone. Passed appetizers like Oat Cheese & Honey Phyllo and Bacon-Wrapped Dates, along with a Shrimp Cocktail station, kept everyone nibbling and mingling.

And then came the fun part: the couple’s signature Orange Crush cocktail. Bright, citrusy, and just the right amount of festive—it quickly became the drink of the night. With the harbor as the backdrop, the sunset painting the sky, and friends and family laughing together, it felt like a scene from a favorite holiday movie.

Dinner: Thoughtful, Delicious, and Plated with Care

Dinner was plated and elegant, but also cozy. Each guest had a Baby Kale Caesar Salad, then chose between:

  • Maryland Crab Cake with Remoulade, Herb Roasted Potatoes, and Roasted Asparagus
  • Pan-Seared Heritage Chicken with the same sides
  • Vegetarian option

Every plate looked beautiful, tasted even better, and paired perfectly with the warm, joyful energy of the evening.

We opted for a plated dinner for our 135 guests, and every single person was served quickly with food that was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Throughout dinner, the staff was extremely on top of everything — always smiling, friendly, and working hard to ensure each guest was taken care of. The bartenders were attentive and efficient, keeping bar lines moving smoothly even with a heavy-drinking crowd.

A Weekend to Remember

Desserts were stationed around the room: chocolate chip and sugar cookies and cannoli. People wandered, grabbed a sweet treat, and savored the final moments of the evening together.

From start to finish, the weekend felt like a storybook you didn’t want to end. With waterfront views, laughter, family, friends, and the small-town charm of Queenstown, it was a weekend full of love, joy, and little moments that will be remembered forever.

If you’re looking for the kind of details guests still talk about weeks later, Lauren and Ryan had a few quiet power moves. The cigar cart quickly became the unexpected star of cocktail hour and stayed busy well into the reception. They also skipped traditional seating in favor of a long family table, creating an intimate dinner moment and a simple seating-chart hack that kept everyone connected. And when it came to bar strategy, they nailed it. Beer and wine as the foundation, orange crushes flowing during cocktail hour, and just three curated liquor options for the reception. Thoughtful, guest-focused, and proof that the smartest choices often feel like the most effortless ones.

From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed, they truly made us feel like we had known them forever. From the venue to the staff to the overall experience, our weekend at Queenstown Harbor was beyond anything we could have imagined. We are so grateful to the entire team for making our dream wedding a reality — it was nothing short of perfect.
